Deline scores the OT winner!
Acadia downs StFX 3-2 in overtime
ANTIGONISH, NS -โฏThe AcadiaโฏAxemenโฏneeded overtime and a goal from second year defender Tyler Deline (Peterborough, ON)โฏto earn a hard foughtโฏ3-2โฏwin over the STFX X-Men on Friday night at the Charles V Keating Centre in Antigonish.โฏDelineโฏmade a nifty move after getting the puck from Cole Nagy and buried the game winner top shelf just over a minute into the extra period.ย

Acadia opened the scoring five minutes into the first period,โฏwithโฏEthan Ernst (Weyburn, SK)โฏsnagging the puck near the home team blueline, skating inโฏon a two-on-one, andโฏfiringโฏoneโฏlow to theโฏshort side. Assists went toโฏMarc Boudreau (Toronto, ON) and Luke Zazula (Langley, BC). Things were rough and tumble at times, withโฏplenty of big hits and both teams enjoying multiple powerplays.โฏThe visitors held a 17-10 advantage in shots after 20 minutes.โฏโฏโฏโฏย

It was a tense, back and forthโฏthird period with officials waving off what appeared to be a STFX goal due to a kicking motionโฏwith five minutes gone.โฏBoth teams pressedโฏto take a lead, but strong play from STFX goalieโฏand second starโฏLucas Pfeil (Owen Sound, ON)โฏand Acadia netminderโฏand third starโฏThomas Couture (Levis, QC)โฏkept the game evenโฏthrough 60 minutes, setting the table forโฏDelineโs decided goal.โฏโฏย
